Forum adminHow can you show your commitment to the Child Safety Principles at your service?
How about creating a living display to demonstrate how your service is meeting each Child Safe Principle?
Need some inspiration? We’ve created an example poster filled with practical ideas for each principle.

Want to create your own? We’ve also created an A3 poster you can print out or fill in online, then display it proudly at your service.
What does your service do for each principle? Let’s discuss. Do you have any ideas?

ParticipantTo assess where our educators are I printed the OOCG questionaire. Their answers will allow us to tailor training and upskill our awesome educators

Forum adminLove this idea! A great resource to use. Curious to know, what were the main areas that stood out as needing the most improvement?

ParticipantWe recently used the self-assessment tool from Child Safe Organisations during a staff meeting to help guide our discussion on how we’re going with the principles. It really helped us reflect and we ended up creating a simple action plan together.

ParticipantWe added the Child Safe Principles to our staff room noticeboard and changed the focus each month. It’s a good reminder and helps keep conversations going around how we can improve our practice.

ParticipantWe have also put up a poster in our service of the 10 principles for staff to refer to. We are now thinking about how we can involve children more in embedding these practices. Does anyone have any ideas or examples of how you’ve included children in conversations about child safe practices?

Forum adminA strategy could be using simple language and role-play to talk about safety with children, like helping them identify trusted adults and practice phrases such as “I don’t feel safe.”. This is a gentle way to build their confidence. We’d love to hear more ideas too!

Forum adminHas anyone used our Child Safe Principles Poster in your service?
We’d love to hear how you’ve used it and how it’s supported your team, children or families in understanding the principles and how you embed them in your practice.
Feel free to share your experiences, and we’d especially love to see photos of how you’ve displayed it in your service.
