Identifying emotions and feelings

This interactive poster set is a great tool to help children identify their emotions and feelings.

Easy steps on how to use:

Print out the “how are you feeling today” poster.

Write children’s names or glue their photo on the poster, leaving enough room to stick the emoticon next to it.
Print out the Emotions page

and the “cut out” page.

Laminate all the printed pages.
Cut out the emotions from the “cut out” page.
Using double sided velcro tape, put a small piece on the back of the “cut out faces” and a small piece on the main poster next to each child’s name.
You could use Blutac if you don’t have velcro tape.

Stick the “how are you feeling today” poster and the Emotions page on the wall where children can reach it.
Place the “cut out faces” in a box below the poster and when children come into the service, invite them to match the face to their name/photo.

TIPS:
Let them change the face throughout the day if they want to.
Talk to them about why they chose the face they did.
