ParticipantHi everyone,
I am curious to hear from others working in long day-care about your practises around children sleeping. In Victoria there used to be rules/guidelines saying 1.5mtr between each mattress/cot however this does not seem to be the case any more. I am seeking ideas on how others do this to ensure children remain safe during sleep. Thanks

Forum adminHi Lisa, thank you for your question.
ACECQA has a useful resource outlining the sleep and rest legislative requirements, as well as policy guidelines. While the old 1.5 m spacing rule is no longer required, it’s still important to maintain adequate space between sleep areas to support supervision, airflow, and overall safety.
You can find it here: https://www.acecqa.gov.au/resources/supporting-materials/infosheet/safe-sleep-and-rest-practices
