Forum adminWe’ve been hearing a lot of conversations about challenging behaviour in children. It’s something educators often face and we know how difficult it can be to manage. But you’re not alone.
We’d love to open up a conversation. What specific challenges are you facing right now? How are you responding, and what strategies are working?
Let’s share ideas and support each other below.

ParticipantWe’ve been seeing a bit of attention-seeking behaviour from some children, like interrupting or doing things just to get a reaction. One thing that’s helped is using a visual schedule. It helps children know what’s coming next in the day and seems to reduce some of the “look at me” behaviour. Open to any other ideas or suggestions!

Forum adminHi Madeleine, thanks so much for sharing. This behaviour is something we often hear about, so you’re definitely not alone.
One strategy that might help is rostering “connection time” by setting aside a few minutes of one-on-one attention with each child. A quick chat, sitting with them during play or noticing something they’re doing well can make a real difference.
We’ve also just created a fact sheet with some other simple strategies to help reduce challenging behaviour. If you’re interested you can check it out here: https://www.edutribe.com.au/resources/8-strategies-to-reduce-challenging-behaviour-fact-sheet/
